A few minutes from the estate
More than 110 kilometres of almost flat cycle path along the Adda, from Lake Como to Bormio. You join it minutes from the estate: west through the terraced vineyards, east to Tirano and the Poschiavo valley, with stops at cellars and farm inns.
Train from Tirano, 5 minutes from the estate
The Bernina Express — a UNESCO World Heritage railway — leaves from Tirano and climbs into Switzerland along the turquoise Lake Poschiavo, up to the Bernina glaciers and St. Moritz. Stop at Le Prese or Miralago for a lakeside walk and return on an afternoon train.
5 minutes from the estate
The Sanctuary of the Madonna di Tirano, the noble palaces along via Visconti Venosta, hidden courtyards and stone portals: the old town takes an hour on foot, between cafés, workshops and the station where the Red Train departs. It is our town, and where we send guests for their first aperitivo.
Within 10 minutes
The side of the valley that guidebooks miss: mountain farms milking at dawn, honey houses with rhododendron and chestnut honey, small makers of bresaola, alpine cheeses, apples and buckwheat. We tell you who really opens their doors, with names and opening times.
About 15 minutes by car
A high-altitude peat bog at 1,350 metres between Aprica and Trivigno: wooden boardwalks, small ponds, larches and wildlife you watch in silence. The right place for an easy walk and deep breaths, with colours that change completely from spring to autumn.

The village that gave Valtellina its name guards Palazzo Besta, a frescoed Renaissance jewel, and the Accademia del Pizzocchero. Here the valley’s signature dish — buckwheat, cabbage, potatoes and Casera cheese — is eaten where it was born: ask us for the right osteria, it changes with the season.

The ruins of Castello Visconti Venosta and the older San Faustino castle stand above Rupe Magna, the largest engraved rock in the Alps. A walk through prehistory and the Middle Ages, with wide views over the valley — ideal for a slow morning, children included.
About 45 minutes by car
Thermal waters that have flowed naturally warm since Roman times: panoramic pools overlooking the valley, caves carved into the rock, steam baths and kneipp paths. Between Bagni Vecchi and Bagni Nuovi, the perfect day when it snows or rains.
