Our Story

In the heart of Villa di Tirano, among the terraced vineyards of Valtellina, everything began at the end of the nineteenth century, when the family’s great-grandparents built this estate and founded Casa Vinicola TONA.

From its very origins, the estate has been deeply tied to the land and the work of the vineyard, at the centre of local life and economy. Here the estate, the cellar, the vineyards and the family have always been part of one single story, marked by the rhythm of the seasons and the daily care of the territory.

Generation after generation, the Tona and Bonisolo families have accompanied the history of Valtellina winemaking, preserving values, character and knowledge.

From 1998, the family’s wine production no longer takes place within the walls of the historic cellar, but the bond with its vineyards, the land and the soul of this place has never been broken.

Today, more than a century after its birth, the Bonisolo family has chosen to open the doors of the estate as a place of rural and genuine hospitality: a space where family welcome meets history, nature and wine culture, in the spirit of a slower life.

Franca, Luigi, Marco and Luca, expressions of the fourth and fifth generations of the family, give life to Tenuta Bonisolo.

A reality with Valtellina roots, born from the desire to enhance the territory and the local community through authentic, family-friendly hospitality that respects the identity of the place.

At the end of 2022, Dimora Perla di Villa comes to life, the first large residence within the estate. It is the beginning of a new chapter: the family estate begins to open its doors to new guests, inviting them to experience Valtellina with authenticity and to discover the slow rhythm of life in the estate.

Thus an exclusive experience with the family is also born, between the historic cellar, the alpine vineyards, the tools of the past and the direct telling of a story more than a century long.

In 2023 the estate begins a collaboration with the University of Pavia, entering into dialogue with international students and creating new opportunities for encounter between hospitality, territory and innovation.

In 2024 Tenuta Bonisolo becomes a case study for the University of Pavia, as an example of enhancing a family and rural heritage through a form of hospitality that respects the mountains.

In 2025 an important recognition arrives: Airbnb selects Tenuta Bonisolo among the top five stays ahead of the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.

In 2026 Dimora La DolceVilla is born, a new residence with views of the alpine vineyards, designed to offer an intimate and immersive stay in the heart of the estate.

In the same year, new wellness services take shape, with massage and sports treatments in the historic stua of the estate, together with Marco, a massage therapist with international experience.
